BESTTRICK - What's it all about?
BESTTRICK is the first and only global Nonstop-Skateboard-Contest. Get up and compete now! Present your best tricks ever and become the BESTTRICK-Champ at your spot, in your town, state, country, continent or worldwide!All you need is to upload single vids of your best tricks. As soon as the upload is completed you are competing worldwide at BESTTRICK. From now on you've got the chance to enter BESTTRICK's 'History' showing the best tricks of all former years.
There is no contest-charge at BESTTRICK. It's free to compete! You don't need to be a Pro. You don't need any sponsors and there are no travel-expenses to contests.
You have to upload a video in order to vote, so only skaters will be involved. There are no other judges.
This also is the place to upload vids showing other skateboarders doing their best tricks. Please use the option to invite them to BESTTRICK! Of course unsportive cameramen are welcome too!
Important to know: All uploaded tricks have to be verified by us. So please be patient and have a cool time until your best tricks are online!
BESTTRICK is free?
Absolutely! It's all free and there is neither a contest-charge nor any other fee. We're not interested in your miserable pocket-money.Is there price-money at BESTTRICK?
Muaahh, we're not your sponsors! We really need our pocket-money to keep the servers running. Your real win is to be recognized by many skateboarders around the world - if your tricks are really cool. After a while you and your tricks will be found at Google. If there are contest-sponsors giving price-money or handsome prices for certain contests at BESTTRICK.COM we will inform you.What should I do if there is a problem at BESTTRICK?

How to register now?
That should cause no problem! It's easy. To do this just click on "register now" at the right top of the page besides the login-fields. All you need to write into the fields are your email-address, your first and last name. You'll get the activation-code in a minute by email. Just click the link sent by mail and activate your user-account.If there is no email please check your spam-folder, before writing us!
Do I get access to BESTTRICK without registration?
Yes and no. Some parts of BESTTRICK are completely open to the public, such as most of the ranking-lists. On the other hand you must be a registered user to use all features of the community like rating and uploading tricks or creating spots. We'll keep your contact-data private. Don't panic. German laws are very restrictive.Do I have to tell my true name?
It really doesn't matter to us. But how should a skateboard-headhunter successfully discover your talent without knowing your name? How should other skaters invite you for sessions? And how does it feel to be Mickey Mouse in the WORLDRANKING with a really good trick? There is no matter to hide you! Use BESTTRICK as PR-Tool for your career!How to change my password?

Not really. Just click on register now. Then click on the option and enter your email-address. One more click on the "reset"-button. You'll get the new activation-code in a minute by email. How to upload a trick?
Go to the main-menu "WATCH TRICKS" and select "UPLOAD TRICKS" in the sub-menu.- Look out for the spot where the trick has been filmed. If needed please add the new spot and everybody will love you!
- So, now it's time to upload your trick. Please be patient with the up-stream of your internet-connection. Vids always need some time. It's very important to title your trick. So if you're uploading a kickflip, please add "kickflip" to the trick's title. Other skateboarders will now be able to find your trick using the search-option.
- To specify your trick please add as much information as possible. Use the additional data options. Did the cops hunt you? Is there a watchdog around? How long did you try to make the trick perfect? Slams: They always are more interesting with the information about your doctor's diagnosis.
How many tricks can be uploaded?
Feel free to upload all tricks you like to! There is no upload-limit. But please upload single tricks only.Is there a videoclip-timeout?
Somehow yes. We never saw tricks lasting longer than some seconds. Keep your single tricks short and your chance to charm a lot of your spectators grows immediately. Only one trick per vid is allowed!Where does the slow-motion come from?

That's easy too: Go to the main-menu "SPOTS" and select "ADD A SPOT". Specify the area in the dropdown-row above the map. First of all enter a continent followed by country, state, town and spot name. Maybe you know the spot's street-name, so enter it in the field under the map or use the option "Find street on map" or move the marker.Please add the common spot name and describe the options skateboarders will find there. Please, please, please upload a pic of that spot too! The satellite-impression never tells enough!!!
How many spots might I add?
There are no limits! But remember a spot should be a real spot and skateable by other skaters. Your waterless private pool in your parent's garden will be crowded soon by crazy skaters. Never fake a spot! We'll get you!How to delete a spot?
Gosh! Someone did build a skyscraper at your spot! How the fuck... The spot is gone. Or if there happened something extraordinary at another spot someone else did add, please use the option "Contact" at the bottom of the page. What the hell is a "homespot"?
That's nothing sexual. Pardon us. It's the skatespot others might usually find you and your buddies skateboarding.How to find a certain spot?

Did you really upload a JPG, GIF or PNG? So maybe your pic is smaller than 450 pixels. That causes the same problems, hyper large pics do.Must my trick be titled?
Yesss! There is always a cool name for a cool trick. If you've invented a trick no one ever did before: Please create a name for it! It's your trick that makes you famous! It helps to be found by the search-option too.Must the day be shown I did a certain trick?
Babe, this is the nonstop global contest! Of course you must enter the date you really did the trick (and not the upload). It's a contest-rule and there are not many! The effect is: you might have the luck to enter the hall of fame at BESTTRICK: the HISTORY!Must there be a description for each trick?

Please use JPG, GIF or PNG for pics only. The vids could be uploaded in the mainly used codecs. We prefer and recommend mpeg4, xvid and x264. These ones really work good.How soon will my uploaded trick be online?
We are fast and we are working most of the time to make you a lucky guy. Please be patient with us if the weather is fine and we are outside kicking our boards. Normally your trick should be online in between the next 24 hours.How to rename a spot or vid?
That's soooo easy: Everything you ever have uploaded just and only can be edited by you and nobody else (but us). Just go to the main-menu "PROFILE" and select "MY PROFILE". Above your profile-page you'll find the options "PROFILE" and "SKATE". Select "SKATE". All your tricks, slams, spots are listed in the submenu. This is the place to EDIT them.How to rate a trick?
As soon as you did successfully upload your first trick, you're allowed to rank other skater's tricks. But better don't try to steel anyone else's trick to be able to rate other people's tricks. We'll catch you and knock the shit out of your ass!Could the ranking be manipulated?
You did vote with ten points for a new trick, but the trick hasn't been rated with 10 points! The rating-system is the core-application of BESTTRICK! We did invest a lot of time and knowledge to make it resistant against manipulation. The rating depends on each single rating of a trick and on the number of ratings for it. A useful statistic-formula (Gauss) is added to the application to cut off the extraordinary high and low ratings. The total number of tricks done be a skater additionally influences the WORLDRANKNG.Why has my vid been rejected?
We never ever asked you to show us how you do a jerk-off! Oh you didn't! So maybe your trick absolutely has no style. There is a minimum of quality your trick has to show. Otherwise we'll click the delete-button for you.Several tricks in one vid are not allowed too. Which trick should be ranked? Please upload only one trick per vid (no lines). We don't discuss that.
Some vids quality is unacceptable. We wanna see bright pictures and no fog- and smog-films. So please use the focus ring of your cam next time and don't forget to clean the lens sometimes. That really helps a lot!
My trick is uploaded but I've still got no WORLDRANKING-Position?
Please don't ask your mother to call us! We've got no child-psychiatrists here at BESTTRICK. Please control the following at first:Did we already verify your newest upload? We need up to 24 hours to do that. There is no ranking possible before we did it.
Please check your email. Maybe your vid has been rejected by us (reed above why). We don#t accept garbage and don't discuss that. But we send an email to you, telling you why we did not accept the vid. Hopefully you're not to weak to survive some critics.
Your trick already is listed but there still is no WORLDRANKING-Position for you? So maybe there still was nobody who did rank your trick. Use the "Invite friends"-option to get some rankings!
A pic, vid or spot has been deleted. Why?
BESTTRICK is no playground for perverts. There are enough sites on the web. This is a sportive nonstop global contest. So we really make sure BESTTRICK never will offend anyone anywhere in the world.Fakes will be bombed out immediately. We'll try all to keep this site as clean as possible. So please fool your girlfriend or someone else.
While playing a vid there are many interrupts! Why?
There might be thousands of answers. Are your webinterface and your line fast enough to watch streaming vids? Is your graphics adaptor correctly set up? Are there too many users watching a certain vid at the same moment? Are you sitting on an island and online with a 56k-modem? Is there too much traffic going on in your internal network? Are you living behind a hardware-firewall? It's useful to use highspeed-connections while visiting BESTTRICK.COM. Software-Firewalls should not cause any problem.Is there no sound while the vids are playing?
Of course there is! But what should we do if your cameraman is drunken and did forget to switch the mic on?Why does the upload last so long?
Easy, babe! Our upload-servers don't cause the problem. They are easily scalable. Root-balancers spread the requests on different servers. So there should never be any capacity-problems. So maybe your vid is too fat? There is no TV-solution needed for BESTTRICK. You might reduce the format. Please convert your vids with MPEG, DIVX, xVID, or x264. Best results are produced in European PAL-Standard. American NTSC should work too. That makes the upload faster!Maybe your connection to the internet I too slow. Remind: Most connections are asymmetrical and the upload-bandwidth is much smaller than the download-bandwidth. So look out for friends at your favorite spot or use the spot map to find other skaters in your town. They'll help you!
What's about copyrights?
BESTTRICK supports and respects everybody's privacy and copyrights. Each user is completely responsible for his uploads. So, by uploading a vid you guarantee for having the rights and/or permission to publish your vid. Be sure we'll check each copyright-request. In cases of copyright-problems we could delete your BESTTRICK-Identity. You'll be forgotten soon. Nobody will miss you. If someone did steel sequences from an official skate-vid, it could become a case for the courts.How to report a copyright-problem?
You did find a faked vid on BESTTRICK.COM? So tell us exactly what you have found including the skater's name, the trick-date and the name of the trick. Please use the option "Fake" to send us an email. We'll control all messages.Be aware the fake-report-option is no good way to cancel other competitors you don't like! To try this could kill yourself.

The best option is the invite-friends-box on our home-page. But there are two other options too: While uploading a vid you are allowed to invite friends to BESTTRICK.COM. That also is possible without uploading a vid! All you need is the first and last name and the email-address of your friends.An invitation combined with an uploaded vid is easy: Directly under the vid there is the option to add a skateboarder's name (seen on the vid) or the name of the one who did film the trick. Just add the correct email-address and click "save".
